ROCKY MOUNT-
Our mom, Daphine Brown, has heard the words, "Well done, thy good and faithful servant." On March 9th her faith became sight as she entered heaven and saw her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She has also been reunited with her loving parents, Tommy and Cora Layton; her devoted husband of forty-seven years, Jesse Brown,Jr.; their infant son, William Douglas; and her special friend of eighteen years, Maurice Tolston.
She leaves behind her loving and caring sister, Magdeline Layton Gupton of Rocky Mount; four devoted daughters: Mary Tonya Jackson (Jack) of North Myrtle Beach, Tempie Rowe (Phil) of Rocky Mount, Jessica Fleming (Hunter) of Enfield, and Hope Connor (Scott) of Nashville; eight grandchildren: Matt Bradley, Wendy Leonard, Jeff Cernugel, Hannah Dunn, Claire Fleming, Zach Connor, Meredith Homlotis, Adam Jackson; and ten great-grandchildren, Kyle Bradley, Levi Bradley, River Bradley, Mack and Brock Leonard, Davis Cernugel, Grace Whitehead, Emily and Joseph Homlotis, Harper Dunn.
In her ninety-one years of life, Daphine was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church for over seventy years, serving the Lord in many capacities.
Visitation will be held at 12:30 pm, Wednesday, March 13 at Calvary Baptist Church, followed by a Celebration of Life service at 2:00 pm. Burial will take place at Pineview Cemetery.
