Tarboro -
Dorothy Hills Heath, age 90, passed away Saturday, August 31, 2019 at Vidant Edgecombe Hospital in Tarboro.
Mrs. Dorothy Heath was a bright light to so many. Her heart remained dedicated to the Lord from her early days as a youth. A tender heart, loving smile, & brilliant eye for coloring the world around her. She shared her love of God, literature, collections & paintings with those she cherished. She grew up in her native state of Washington with her loving sister Louise, and married Clyde Heath, a North Carolinian. She shared so much of herself in her walk with the Lord in her mission trips from all corners of the world. Among her favorites to talk about included China, Philippines, & Mexico. She spent her married life & golden years in her beloved home of more than 60 years in Tarboro, NC where she met her cherished friends & extended family. She attended First Pentecostal Holiness Church for much of her adult life & Falkland Church of God in her golden years. She shared her lovely hand painted ceramics with special friends & her paintings adorned the walls of her last home at Golden Living Center. Always humble to her Lord & never boastful in her many years of traveling & accomplishments. Her quiet demeanor shinned with those who loved her, sharing her experiences only when asked. An independent soul who walked a mile at nearly seventy years old to her neighboring shops after driving had become a pastime for her. She will forever grace our homes with her beautiful art, always in our memories & live close to our hearts. Her 90 years were blessed & cherished ones, and we were all fortunate to be able to share with her. This beautiful imaginative soul now at rest at home in the loving arms with her Savior Jesus Christ.
Graveside services will take place at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at Edgecombe Memorial Park.
