Rocky Mount –

A.B. Gentry, Jr., age 84, passed away Sunday, December 29, 2024 at Duke University Hospital in Durham, NC. He was born in Hoke County on July 13, 1940 to Arch and Jessie McKenzie Gentry, both of whom preceded him in death.

He leaves a lifetime of memories for his wife of sixty-one years, Betty W. Gentry; children, Channon Gentry Jordan (Neal) of Battleboro and Sheri-An Gentry of Rocky Mount; sisters, Shirley Horton and Judy Wood (Keith); grandchildren, Beth Strickland (Jeremy) of Nashville, Jennifer Robbins of Rocky Mount, Alex Jordan (Sierra) of Roanoke Rapids and Emily Jordan of Battleboro; great-grandchildren, Kinsley Strickland, Reese Strickland, Eleanor Jordan and Walker Jordan; along with other extended relatives.

The family will receive friends during a Special Time of Remembrance from 4-6pm on Saturday, January 4, 2025 at Davis-Little Funerals, 2129 Lawrence Circle, Rocky Mount, NC 27804.
