Rocky Mount –

Alan Garris, age 48, passed away Monday, February 16, 2026 at Nash UNC Hospital in Rocky Mount, NC. He was born on February 3, 1978 in Nash County, son of Al and Susie Garris. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Bill and Rosa Walters and paternal grandparents, George and Mary Garris.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his children, Skylar Garris and Carson Garris; his children's mother, Genevieve; brother, Derek Garris of Rocky Mount; nieces, Shyanne Mercer (Will) and Natalie Garris; nephew, Alex Garris and Jase Garris; along with several aunts, uncle, cousins and other extended relatives.

A private memorial will be held at a later date.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Nash UNC Hospital and Honor Bridge for their compassion and care for our family over the last few days.
