Rocky Mount -

Alice Lehnes, age 83, passed away on April 16, 2021 at her home in Rocky Mount, NC. She was born and raised in Somerset, New Jersey, where she attended Rider College.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James V. Lehnes and son, James V. Lehnes, Jr.  Alice enjoyed her career as a teacher of secretarial science at Greenville Technical College in Greenville, South Carolina. Alice relocated to Rocky Mount NC in 2007.  She had a faithful devotion to her Catholic faith and attended Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church.  Alice had a passion for cooking, (and feeding people).  She enjoyed knitting and crochet, painting, crossword puzzles and Scrabble. She was known for her kind and gentle spirit and her love of family.

Alice is survived by her children, Bill Lehnes (Kim) of Rocky Mount, Alicia Summers (Mike) of Annandale, VA and Joseph Lehnes (Melissa) of Buffalo, NY; grandchildren, Shelly Christobal (Christian), Kelly Warren (Alex), Liz Lehnes, Mathew, Nick, and Kate Summers, and Allaire and Michael Lehnes; great-grandchildren, William and Benjamin Cristobal, and Hunter, Ainsley, and Finley Warren; sisters, Barbara Merriam (Bob) of Bedminister, NJ and Ruth Ann Losardo of Boundbrook, NJ.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 20, 2021, at 11:00am at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 331 Hammond Street, Rocky Mount NC.
