Rocky Mount -

Allen Garris, age 70, passed away Saturday, September 16, 2023 following a lengthy battle from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.

Allen was born November 5, 1952 to Joe and Iva Lee Tant Garris. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Christopher Allen Garris.

He leaves a lifetime of treasured memories for his wife of forty-seven years, Debbie Garris; sons, Roderick Garris and Derrick Garris (Reava) all of Rocky Mount; brothers, Wayne Garris (Wendy Woodruff) of Sharpsburg and Kenny Garris of Rocky Mount; grandchildren, Chloe Garris of the home, Lydia, Vanna, Cooper, Hannah, Hunter, Heyden, and Brysen, all of Rocky Mount; nieces, Laura Garris, Danielle Madigan (Jeff), Shawn Porter (Gene), and Jamie Boyd (Larry); along with many friends and other extended relatives.

A Memorial Celebration of Allen's Life will be held at 6:00 pm, Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at Parkwood Baptist Church, 1731 Hunter Hill Road, Rocky Mount, NC. The family will receive friends immediately following the service and other times at the home.
