Alma Ruth Williford Batchelor, age 93, went to be with her Lord and Savior on July 20, 2021. She was born in Wilson County, NC on June 21, 1928 to Siddie Liles Williford and Elijah Elbert Williford. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Conway Batchelor, Sr. in 1999 and her daughter, Janis Hilda Moore (Horace) in 2018, seven sisters and one brother.

She is survived by her son, Oscar Conway Batchelor, Jr. (Ann); grandsons, O.C. Batchelor, III of Rocky Mount and Tim Batchelor (Christina) of Princeton, IL; three great-grandchildren, Timothy, Elaina, and Thomas; many nieces and nephews, and her beloved canine companion, Blanket.

Alma was a member of Sharpsburg Baptist Church since 1946. She was a farmer's wife and nurse at Boice-Willis Clinic for over 30 years. She touched many lives and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A service will be held on Sunday, August 1, 2021 at 4:00 PM at Crossroads Baptist Church, 3224 Benvenue Rd, Rocky Mount, NC 27804. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 3:00 PM. Interment will take place on Monday, August 2, 2021 at Pineview Cemetery at 10:30 AM.
