Amanda Gay Lancaster, age 92, went Home to be with her Lord and Savior Thursday, June 8, 2023. She was born September 7, 1930, daughter of Charlie and Minnie Gay. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William B. Lancaster; brother, L.A. Creekmore, Sr.; sister, Vera Neighbors and niece, Linda Journigan.

Amanda was a faithful member of Falls Road Baptist Church (now Crossroads Baptist) since 1965. She served there in many capacities including singing in the choir for fifty-one years and teaching senior Sunday School for thirty-four years. Her heart's desire was to live for the Lord and others to see Christ in her. Amanda was also a Belk store retiree after 25 dedicated years.

She is survived by a special brother-in-law, Gene Neighbors; nephews, L.A. Creekmore, Jr. (Phyllis) and Jimmie Crickmore (Linda). Amanda had a special family she held dear to her heart, Teresa Rapp (John) and children, Krista Settle (Brian) and sons, Peter and Oliver, and Barrie Fuentes (Mario) and sons, Arion and Ezekiel, all of Decatur, Georgia.

A service will be held Saturday, June 17, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Crossroads Baptist Church, 3224 Benvenue Road, Rocky Mount, NC 27804 with Pastor Lee Price officiating. Visitation will follow the service. Burial will take place at 2:00 PM at Mill Branch Cemetery.
