IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Angela "Gail"
Skipper
October 17, 1968 – July 17, 2023
Tarboro -
Angela "Gail" Skipper, age 54, passed away peacefully at her home early Monday morning, July 17, 2023.
Angela's journey began in Edgecombe County on October 17, 1968 as the first of three daughters born to Noyel John and Delores Owens Medford. Brought up in a loving home with strong Christian principles, the sisters forged an unbreakable bond that would see them through a lifetime of trials and triumphs, always sticking together, always being there for each other. While some knew her as 'Angela' and many called her 'Gail', everyone knew her as a loving wife to Brian, deeply devoted mother to Dillon, and a steadfast friend to those she loved.
Gail graduated from Tarboro High School with the class of 1987. She maintained many long-term friendships and enjoyed a wide circle of friends and acquaintances. She was also a long standing member of the South Edgecombe Rural Fire Department Ladies' Auxiliary. Her strength and character were deeply rooted in her unshakeable faith, allowing her to face her illness with courage and dignity, confident in her coming victory with Jesus. Gail's life was sweet and special, short in human terms, but rich in the gifts she gave and left behind. More than anything, her most fervent wish was for Jesus and the promise of Heaven to be made known to and embraced by all her friends and family. She left this world hoping to see everyone she loves in Heaven one day.
Gail was preceded in death by her father, Noyel John Medford; special aunts, Betty Braswell and Deborah Ford; and father-in-law, Bill Skipper.
She will live forever in the hearts of her husband of thirty-one years, Brian Skipper; son, Dillon Ryan Skipper of Tarboro; mother, Delores "Lois Ann" Medford, also of Tarboro; sisters, Connie Watkins and husband, Lee of Rocky Mount and Sherry Webb and husband, Daniel of Tarboro; mother-in-law, Beverly Ann Briggs and husband, Corey of Tarboro and sister-in-law, Beth Ann Skipper of Rocky Mount. Gail will also be missed by nieces and nephews, John "JW" Medford (Jessica), Brandon Watkins (Maggie), Zach Webb (Kayla), Seth Webb, Lauren and Aaron Smith and great nephews, Judah, Julien, John Wesley, and Tucker Lee.
A service will be held on Saturday, July 22, 2023 at 11:00am at Hobgood Pentecostal Holiness Church, 208 South Bay Street, Hobgood, NC 27843 with Pastor Dwight Jones officiating. The family will greet friends immediately following the service. Interment will take place at 2:00pm at Edgecombe Memorial Park, 2879 US-258, Tarboro, NC 27886.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hobgood Pentecostal Holiness Church, PO Box 474, Hobgood, NC 27843.
