Ann Marie Richau

In Loving Memory

Ann Marie Richau, age 80, of Rocky Mount, NC, passed away Friday, June 19, 2026 peacefully at Nash UNC. She was born on February 6, 1946 in Lockport, New York.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilbert and Ann Elizabeth Richau; her brothers, Wilbert C. Richau Jr. and Walter H. Richau; her children, Rebecca A. Larkin and Christopher P. Mott.

She is survived by her children, Jerry E. (Karen) Mott Jr, Mona Leigh Mott, all of Rocky Mount and Doris Elizabeth Kathmann of Vancleave, MS; siblings, Mary Liz Baker of Charlotte and Jeannine M. Clayton of GA; along with several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Ann especially adored her grandchildren, Bethany N. (Delton) Burgess, Derek G. (Molly) Mott, Carrie M. Rutkowski, Ethan L. Gow, Dakota R. Brock-Mott, Sebastian T. Clancy, Alyssa M. Clancy, Caiden J. Westphal, Jaxon W. Mott, Jevon A. Szwalla, Juliet A. Szwalla and Jaren L. Coleman and several great-grandchildren.

Ann graduated from DeSales Catholic High School, Lockport, NY. She retired from General Motors in Lockport, NY in 2002. In 2003, she moved to Rocky Mount, NC. She was a member of Rocky Mount Citizens Police Academy and a volunteer at Nash General Hospital gift shop.

She loved the holidays, decorating, cooking and always enjoyed making others happy, especially children. She enjoyed crocheting, painting, drawing, reading, sewing, baking cakes, arts and crafts.

She loved being called "Aunt Ann" and "Grandma Ann" and "Mom" by her extended loved ones. She adored her canine "Fur Babies" Puddin Pop and Ziva Mae.

Ann was faithful in her Catholic beliefs and is now resting in the arms of our Lord. She leaves behind a beautiful Legacy of Faith, reminding us all of the promise of eternal Life. And let us not forget her love for Elvis Presley.
