Annette W. Mitchell, age 81, passed away unexpectedly Friday afternoon, January 16, 2026. She was born in Lenoir County on January 5, 1945 to Burl and Agnes Waller. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dallas Mitchell and daughter-in-law, Heather Mitchell.

Annette had a soft, quiet soul, always wanting to be helpful, and never wanting to be a burden. During her earlier years, she enjoyed working as a nursing assistant and caring for others in need. She was proud of her children and grandchildren and loved them all with a tireless and unwavering heart. Life wasn't always easy for Annette, but she worked hard, did her best, and loved her family with all she had and all she was. She will forever be remembered as our beloved mother and Nana.

Annette is survived by her sons, Dallas Mitchell, Jr. of Tarboro and Cameron Mitchell (Katisha) of Fountain; daughters, Sherry Jenkins of Kinston and Robin Rogers of LaGrange; brother, David Waller of Swansboro; grandchildren, Tyler Mitchell, India Alexis Mitchell, Cameron Ryan Mitchell, Kyla Faith Mitchell, Eugene "Pooh" Williams, Jr., Tiffany Jones, Brittany Smith (Brandon), and Cody Rogers (Abby); great-grandchildren, Katelyn Hill, Chandler Jones, Garison Jones, Marisa Jones, Jasper Holloman, Paisley Howard, Paxton Howard, Everette Smith, Raelyn Rogers, Cash Rogers, and MillerKate Rogers; and three great-great-grandchildren, Javarion Williams, Rylan Hill, and Colton Jones.

Annette's family will schedule a private memorial at a later date.
