Barbara Jean Cockrell Shafer, age 80, passed away Tuesday evening, March 26, 2024 at Nash UNC HealthCare in Rocky Mount, North Carolina.

She is survived by a loving family that includes her devoted husband of twenty-eight years, Charles "Skip" Shafer, Jr.; sons, Kevin Hall and wife, Lisa, and Scott Hall and wife, Janice, all of Nashville; step-son, Christopher Shafer of Rocky Mount; sisters, Shirley Hux of Rocky Mount, Marie Barnes of Wilson, NC, and Peggy Whitecotton of Mississippi; grandchildren, Matthew Hall, Rachel Hall, Megan Hall, Sarah Beane, Emily Hall, Abby Boykin, and Molly Hall; great-grandchildren, Alex Alvarez, Jaxon and Liam Pittman, Isla Jean Hall, Bryson and Conner Boykin, and Kinley Moser. She will also be deeply missed by many nieces, nephews, family friends and other extended relatives.

A memorial service to remember and celebrate Barbara's life will be held at 7:00 pm, Friday, March 29, 2024 at Davis-Little Funerals, 2129 Lawrence Circle, Rocky Mount. The family will greet friends immediately following the service.

While floral tributes are welcomed, memorial donations to assist the family with expenses will also be appreciated.
