Benjamin Thomas Davis, Jr., age 86, passed away peacefully Saturday morning, July 8, 2023, at his son's home in Bracey, VA. In addition to his parents, Ben and Lola, he was preceded in death by his brother, R.C. "Boots" Davis (Elsie) and sister, Ruth D. Hodges (Cecil) of Rocky Mount. Ben attended Rocky Mount High School and Atlantic Christian College. Before retiring from Abbott Labs, he worked in the Emerson Shops at Atlantic Coast Line Railroad. Additionally, he was a wedding photographer for many years.

As a youngster, Ben enjoyed time spent with friends at Sky-Vue Skateland and the Dairy Bar. He served in the Army Reserves and was a Mason and Shriner for over 60 years. An avid traveler, he also had the privilege of baptism in the Jordan River. Up until a couple of years ago, he attended dances regularly; he particularly liked the Cha-Cha and Shag.

Ben is survived by his son, Ben III (Kim); daughter, Tina D. Hunt (Howard); and grandchildren, Thomas, Bobby, Alex, Ethan, Kaitlyn (James), and Mckenzi; and great-granddaughter, Malena. He told them he loved them every chance he got.

A graveside service to honor Ben's life will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at Pineview Cemetery, Rocky Mount, NC. The family will greet friends immediately following the service.
