Clifton "Berry" McCracken, age 67, passed away on November 2, 2024 at ECU Medical Center in Greenville, North Carolina, surrounded by his family.  He was born on December 13, 1956 to Frances W. McCracken and William E. McCracken. He was preceded in death by his mother, Frances McCracken; brother, Bill McCracken and son, Jacky McCracken.

Berry is survived by his wife of forty-four years, Helga McCracken; children, Berry "Woody" McCracken; Larry McCracken and Vanessa Smith (Twan); father, William McCracken; sisters, Debbie and Teresa; along with many nieces and nephews. Berry was proud to be a grandfather to: Nathan, Dre, Dalvin and Miah and great-grandfather to Laura.

After graduation, Berry joined the United States Army and was stationed in Germany where he met the love of his life, Helga. After completing his military service, Berry lived in Germany for many years and worked as a mechanic for the Department of Defense (DOD). He also worked security on military posts and then as a DOD contractor in Iraq and Afghanistan. After retirement, Berry moved back to the United States.

Berry had a love for animals of all kinds, but cats were his favorite. He also enjoyed fishing, attending concerts and BBQing with his family. He will be missed by his family and friends.

A private memorial service will be held in Arizona at a later date.
