Cary -

Bonnie Millard Strickland, formerly of Rocky Mount, passed away peacefully Sunday, July 6, 2025 at Phoenix Assisted Care in Cary, North Carolina at age 100. Her life-long journey started in Mt. Olive on December 17, 1924 as the only daughter born to Charles Washington and Ruth Parker Millard. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, James T. Harrison and Carvie Everette Strickland; daughter, Frances Harrison Tarleton and brother, Patrick Millard.

She leaves a lifetime of special memories for her daughters, Cathy Harrison Savage of Raleigh and Jane Harrison Brown (Gerry) of Whitakers; step-children, Pamela Strickland Lowe of Knoxville, TN and Richard Ellis Strickland (Pam) of Rocky Mount; along with other extended relatives.

Bonnie was a beloved "Mimi" to her grandchildren, Blair Tarleton (Amy), Stephen Tarleton (Marissa), Gerald Brown, Jr., Thomas Brown, Phillip Brown, Charity Hodgin (Richard), Elizabeth Evans (Darin) and Melissa Savage; five step-grandchildren, Paige Hughes (Gregg), Brooke Ellenberger, Jason Strickland (Delight), Ryan Strickland (Laura), and Matthew Strickland (Rachael); as well as twelve great-grandchildren and eight step-great-grandchildren.

A service will be held at 3:00pm on Thursday, July 10, 2025 at Davis-Little Funerals, 2129 Lawrence Circle, Rocky Mount, NC 27804. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 2:00pm. A private burial will take place at a later date.
