Bruce Wayne Gay, 73, entered heaven on Friday, September 3, 2021.  He was born in Edgecombe County on April 12, 1948, to Jessie James Gay and Mary Lee Sellers Gay.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, John Sellers and Kenneth Gay.

Bruce is survived by his wife of 48 years, Brenda Brantley Gay; son, Wayne Lee Gay of Rocky Mount; sister, Shirley Gay Lewis of Escanaba, Michigan; and nieces and nephews.

Bruce owned and operated BWG Plumbing for 32 years.  He had excellent problem-solving skills.  In addition to his master plumber skills, Bruce was respectful, reliable, and always willing to help someone in need.  In his spare time, he enjoyed gardening and watching western movies.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at his home on Saturday, September 18, 2021, at 2:00 PM.
