Rocky Mount

Carol Brander, age 62, passed away peacefully Thursday morning, October 30, 2025. She was born in Westchester County New York on January 24, 1963 to parents, Peter and Beatrice Hyler Viola.

Carol was a devoted daughter, wife, and mother who made many lifelong friends. She was a large lover of animals and fully committed to her pet family. She had a big heart with a very strong personality and was a wonderful woman with a great sense of humor. There was nothing she wouldn't do for her loved ones. She was someone you could always count on to have your back and she always called it how she saw it. She cared deeply and gave herself readily to friends, family, and coworkers.

Carol was employed by Barnes Farming Corporation for the last ten years of her life as lead accountant and personal assistant to the Barnes family. She was a respected and integral part of the organization and a "go to" person when it came to getting things done.

In addition to her mother, Carol was preceded  in death by her grandmother; brother; and husband, William Brander. She will be greatly missed by those she loved, including her son, Jimmy Viola; father, Peter Viola; three brothers; a sister; many nieces and nephews; along with several friends and extended family. She also leaves her cherished pet family of two precious dogs, Shelby and Holley, and a handful of playful kitties.

A private memorial will be held at a later date.
