IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Catherine Elizabeth
(Cecilio) Fulford
March 5, 1967 – October 23, 2021
Rocky Mount -
CATHERINE CECILIO FULFORD passed away peacefully in Rocky Mount, North Carolina on October 23rd, 2021, at 5:15 a.m., following her battle with breast cancer. Born in Gloucester, Massachusetts on March 5th, 1967, she lived in her hometown most of her life. Cathy graduated from Gloucester High School in 1985, and then traveled for several years and started a family before pursuing higher education. As a mother of two, she enrolled in Salem State University and graduated in 1999 with a degree in Business Administration and Accounting. She pursued a career in accounting, working primarily in long term care facilities, where she was cherished for her work ethic and leadership. She married Christopher Fulford, in December 2016 after nearly a decade of friendship and partnership.
Cathy was electric and could easily make friends with anyone. She was full of life, love, light and had a bubbly, warm personality. Her laugh was as contagious as her smile, which she passed down to both of her daughters. She loved to cook and travel, especially to her favorite destination, Aruba. Cathy loved generously and went the extra mile for everyone in her life, including family, friends, and her beloved canine companions. She and Chris moved to Rocky Mount, North Carolina in 2018 where she joined the staff of The Lodge and made many loving and caring friends. She was dearly loved by those who knew her and will be deeply missed.
Cathy has reunited with her predeceased parents, Carol and Christopher Cecilio; brother, Christopher Cecilio Jr.; a dear cousin, Nicole Gleason; and numerous aunts and uncles. She leaves behind her wonderful husband, Chris; two daughters, Megan and Brooke Leach; two adoring sisters, Kim and Susan Cecilio; and many close friends who felt like family.
Friends will gather for a special time of remembrance at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at The Lodge of Rocky Mount, 3322 Village Road, Rocky Mount, NC.
In lieu of flowers, you may consider donations to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, P.O. Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284-9168.
