Charlie Pettis, age 85, passed away at The Lodge, Monday, August 10, 2020.  He was born in Irvin, GA, August 23, 1934 to James Calvin Pettis and Thelma Myrick.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Joann Pettis, daughter, Lisa Marlene Ashcroft (Howard) of Lansing, MI; and his sister, Mattie Jo Duke.

Charlie is survived by his daughter, Karen Girona (Kerry) of Rocky Mount; son, Charles Kenneth Pettis, "Kenny"; and grandchildren, Tara Alexander, Kelly Carter, Michael Bowen, Willie Pettis, and Kenny Pettis.

A private memorial service will take place at a later date.
