Christopher Lee Erb, age 44, passed away Wednesday, February 4, 2026 in Nash County, North Carolina. He was born in Chester County, Pennsylvania on December 8, 1981 to Thomas and Lisa Marie Erb. He was a devoted husband, attentive father, doting grandfather "Pepaw", hardcore friend, and dedicated worker. He loved fishing with his friends and spending time with his grandson, Silas.

A passionate animal lover, Chris was constantly bringing home stray dogs and cats that needed food, shelter, and love. He became especially attached to his favorite little companion, a hairless cat named Sif. Chris always had an instinctive way of looking out for those around him and a genuine desire to care for people in any way he could. He never met a stranger – only friends he hadn't gotten to know. His intense spirit touched countless lives and will continue to live on through the memories he leaves behind.

In addition to his birth parents, Chris was preceded in death by his grandmother, Sally Ann Brake; step-father, Bobby Bone; and mother-in-law, Jann Pendergrass.

Chris will be deeply missed by his wife of twenty-seven years, Lisa Pendergrass Erb; son Cameron Erb (Makayla); daughter: Hannah Erb (Tucker); grandson, Silas; brothers, Brian Erb, Nicholas Erb (Denise), Justin Erb, and Eric Larwa (Daisy); sisters, Jessica Johnson (Billy) and Angel McCrary; uncle, Matt Yoder; close cousins Johnny Wilson, Michael Yowell, Mark Yowell, Greg Yowell, Andy Lamar, and Amber Johnson;  and best friends, Matt Wilcox and David Carnley.

Chris is also survived by a special aunt who loved and raised him as her own, Mary Yoder Cruz; foster mother, Yvonne Jones (Calvin); along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, family friends and other extended relatives.

A memorial service to remember Chris will be held at 6:00 pm, Friday, February 13, 2026 at New Life Church, 1127 Benvenue Road, Rocky Mount, North Carolina 27804. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
