In that quiet moment unexpected by us but perfectly planned by her Lord, Christy Canady was called home Wednesday morning, October 11, 2023 to that wonderful place prepared for her, following a lengthy illness.

Christy Nicole Canady was born April 22, 1977 to Ronald Lee and Brenda Abrams Canady.  She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Rufus and Florence Moore Abrams Harrell; paternal grandparents, Owen and Nellie Canady; two very special great-grandparents, Mark and Alma Canady; and two very special uncles, James and Gerald Abrams.

Christy leaves a very loving family that includes her parents, Ron and Brenda; maternal aunt who was much like a second mother, Linda Abrams McNeill and her husband, Duncan; special aunts Beth Abrams and Teresa Abrams; paternal aunt and uncle, Bill and Linda Griffin; uncle Chris Canady; aunt Shereen; special cousins, Gina Prince,  Amanda Abrams Tharrington, Jerry Abrams, Kailyn Abrams, Kathryn Dupree, Shelley Daniels, Lindsey Monaghan, Cayla and Julia Canady; best friend, Neeley Crawford and her son, Dominque; her beloved fur babies, Hannah, Penelope and Priscilla; along with a host of family friends and other extended relatives.

A service to remember Christy's life will be held at 2:30 pm, Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at Falkland Church of God, 5925 S. Main Street, Falkland, NC 27827. Burial will follow in the Falkland Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service, beginning at 1:00 pm.
