Clara Mae Chappell, age 81, passed away early Sunday morning, December 22, 2019. She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Chappell and two granddaughters, Clara Beth Chappell and Lisa Chappell. She is survived by three sons, Ernie Chappell (Lisa) of Rocky Mount, Victor Chappell (Susan) of Red Oak, and Billy Chappell of Rocky Mount; siblings, Ray Horne (Mary Sue), Johnny Horne (Pat), all of Stantonsburg, and Goldie Bone (Thurman) of Elm City; grandchildren, Scott Chappell of Colorado, Chris Chappell (Melanie) of Bunn, Corey Chappell (Donna) of Colorado, Shannon Chappell of Wilson, and Chloe Chappell of Nashville; great-grandchildren, Evan, Cody, Courtney, Jon Michael, and Trapper; two great-great-grandchildren, along with a host of nieces, nephews and other extended relatives.

A Private memorial will be held at a later date.
