David Michael "Mike" Phipps, age 69, passed away on Wednesday, July 6, 2022 at UNC Lenoir Hospital in Kinston, NC. He was born in Edgecombe County on November 14, 1952 to Noah and Mary Porter Phipps, both of whom preceded him in death.

He is survived by his son, Stanley Phipps and wife, Alyssa of Ayden; sister, Nancy Phipps of Pinetops; brother, Philip Phipps and wife, Janet of Devonshire, England; grandson, Shane Phipps; nieces, Tara Phipps Mancinelli of New York, Justine Fuller of England, and Tabatha Phipps of Rocky Mount; and nephew, Alex Phipps.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at 6:00PM at The Church of God, 2127 Lawrence Circle, Rocky Mount, NC 27804. The family will begin receiving friends prior to the service beginning at 5:00PM.
