Delores Cannon Hoggard finished her race here on earth, the 26th of April at the age of 78 years old.

Delores was born on August 14, 1947, in Edgecombe County to Raymond David and Flossie Mae Pearson Cannon. She graduated from Tarboro High School in 1966.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, George Woodard Hoggard, Sr.; daughter, Georgia Yvonne Hoggard Peaden; son, Jonathan Earl Hoggard; son-in-law, Richard Alvin Peaden; brothers, Marvin Thompson, Crawford Allen Thompson and David Ray Cannon; sisters, Florence Blanche Thompson Cannon, Barbara Jean Cannon Joyner and Dwinda Lue Cannon Perry; granddaughters, Nancy Marie Hoggard Shaffer and Moresa Nicole Hoggard Stalls; and sister-in-law, Marie Hoggard Everette. She grew to become a loving wife, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother and dear friend. Her life was a treasured gift to her many friends and relatives and will be deeply missed.

Delores leaves a lifetime of cherished memories for her sons: George Woody Hoggard (Leslie) of Macclesfield, NC and James Kelly Hoggard (Denise) of Tarboro, NC; sister, Rebecca Jane Thompson Holloman (Joseph) of Rocky Mount, NC; grandchildren, Victoria Bowen Hillard (Tyler) of Farmville, NC, James Matthew Hoggard (Brandy) of Sharpsburg, NC, Kenneth Lee Bowen (Ashley) of Conetoe, NC and Meagan Lynn Hoggard of Macclesfield, NC; brothers-in-law, Lee Hoggard (Aya), David Hoggard and Joe Hoggard, along with many nieces, nephews, great-grandchildren, friends and other extended relatives.

Delores’ legacy of kindness, and unwavering commitment to others leaves a lasting impact on those who knew her. She was known for her generosity, often helping others without hesitation and offering support whenever it was needed. Delores will be remembered for her strong work ethic, kindness, and the immense love she had for her family.
