Rocky Mount –

Delphia "Ann" Melvin,  born November 24, 1939, went to be with the Lord on November 11, 2020 while surrounded by her loved ones.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Alton Gray "Brownie" Melvin; parents, Charles and Bessie Edwards; brothers, Charles Lester Edwards, Jr., Spencer Lee Edwards, Donald Wayne Edwards, Jimmy Hooks Edwards, Willie Thomas Edwards; and infant sister, Nannie Elizabeth Edwards.

Ann leaves a lifetime of cherished memories for her sons, Mark Melvin (Clarice), Wayne Melvin (Beth), Glenn Melvin, and Richard Melvin (Denise); and brother, Randolph Edwards (Ennis).

She was a loving Grandma to twelve grandchildren: Cody Melvin (Ashley), Lindsey Thomason (Blake), Dillon Hawley, Reese Melvin, Daniel Melvin (Brittany), Shelly Melvin, Matthew Melvin, Amanda Melvin, David Melvin, Hunter Melvin, Logan  Melvin, and Caitlyn Melvin; and five great-grandchildren: Addison Melvin, Austin Melvin, Colton Melvin, Ellie Hawley, and MacKenzie Melvin.

Ann was dearly loved and will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, family friends and especially the family's canine companion, Toby.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 14, 2020, 10am – 12pm at Southside Baptist Church, Elm City, followed by a graveside service at 12:30pm at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.  At other times, the family will receive friends at the home.
