Pinetops –

Denise Carson, age 59, passed away peacefully Sunday evening, September 7, 2025 at Service League Inpatient Hospice in Greenville, NC. She was born in Edgecombe County on August 1, 1966, the second child and oldest daughter of Roland and Betty "Jackie" Marlow.

Raised with a large and loving family, Denise grew to become a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, and nana. Her early foundation was centered around biblical teachings that helped her develop a deep personal faith that would carry her through many trials and tribulations. She was a God fearing, lifetime member of Tarboro Church of God. She loved her church family as her very own and was always glad to help others in any way that she could.

Lovingly known by many as "Neecy" and by many more as friend, Denise was easily recognized for her kindness, compassion, and generosity. She loved spending time with family; snuggling with Abby & Quinn; and sharing the many delightful finds she would uncover on her favorite shopping platform, Temu.

Later in life when faced with some critical health challenges, Denise became a fighter, relying on the 'joy of the Lord' for her strength. She fought the good fight, finished her race and kept her faith, unabashedly ready to meet her Savior face to face.

Denise was preceded in death by her mother, Jackie Marlow Langston;  brother-in-law, Donald Davis; nephew, Chadwick Wetherington; and aunts, Janice Marlow and Esther Pylant.

She leaves a lifetime of treasured memories for her husband of twenty-eight years, Joe Carson; father, Roland Marlow; children, Shannon Bell (Johnny Harris), Mike Lewis (Shellie), all of Tarboro, Nicky Andrews (Robert) of Leggett and Junior Carson of Pinetops; siblings, Chan Marlow (Ronda) of Scotland Neck, Bonni Davis and Beth Green (Brian), all of Pinetops; niece and caregiver, Madison Green; step-father, Ed Langston of Tarboro; and beloved canine companions, Abby and Quinn.

An adoring Nana, Denise will also be missed by her grandchildren, Autumn Elizabeth, Hunter Carson, Sarah Makayla, Dillen Joseph, Austin Lee, Madelynn Rain, Nolan Michael and Briggs; along with several nieces, nephews and other extended relatives.

Please join family and friends for a special service to honor God and remember Denise at 1:00pm on Thursday, September 11, 2025 at Tarboro Church of God, 908 W. St. James Street, Tarboro, NC 27886. Interment will immediately follow at St. Michael's Episcopal Church Cemetery, 3204 Western Boulevard, Tarboro, NC 27886.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00pm on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at Davis-Little Funerals, 2129 Lawrence Circle, Rocky Mount, NC 27804.
