Donnie Johnson, age 81, passed away peacefully Wednesday, December 17, 2025 at Nash UNC Health Care in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. His journey began on August 30, 1944 in Nash County, son of Fred and Edna Taylor Johnson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Anita Bottoms Johnson; brother, Bennie Ray Johnson and nephew, Bennie Keith Johnson.

Donnie was the owner and operator of  Johnson Cleaning Service for several years serving numerous counties during his career. After retirement, he enjoyed spending time with family and friends and traveling to the beach and mountains.

He leaves a lifetime of memories for his twin brother, Ronnie Johnson of Rocky Mount; sister, Jean "Doodle" Gurganus of Raleigh; sister-in-law, Linda Narron of Rocky Mount; nieces and nephews, Wayne Johnson (Heather), Angie Starkweather (Kevin), Dave Gurganus (Sheila), Michael Gurganus (Jessica), Brian Gurganus (Mary) and Randy Johnson (Landis); his devoted pup, Bailey; along with many great-nieces and nephews, family friends, and other extended relatives.

A graveside memorial service will be at 11:00am on Tuesday, December 23, 2025 at Rocky Mount Memorial Park, 4544 Dortches Blvd, Rocky Mount, NC 27804. The family will receive friends from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Monday, December 22, 2025 at Davis-Little Funerals, LLC, 2129 Lawrence Circle, Rocky Mount, NC 27804.
