Spring Hope -

Doris "Faye" Edwards, age 73, passed away peacefully while surrounded by her family on June 14, 2024.  Her life began in Nash County on June 28, 1950 when she was born to Askew and Doris Murray Edwards.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a niece, Stephanie Dickinson.  Faye is survived by her sister, Marsha Parker (Jerry Lee); brothers, Ray Edwards (Wendy) and Kenneth Edwards; nephew, David Dickinson; niece, Crystal Kennedy (Robbie), along with several great nieces and nephews, other extended relatives and family friends.  She will especially be missed by her special friend, Lee Bass.

Faye was affectionately known by many as "Fuzz".  While working at Abbott Labs (now Pfizer), she made many friends during her 28-year tenure in the pharmaceutical industry.  When she was not working, Faye always made time for her family.  She was known as the "fun aunt" who brought laughter and smiles to all those who were in her company.  There was also a very caring and selfless side of Faye that was never broadcast with words, but by her actions.  When the time came for her brother, Kenneth, to be in need of a caregiver, Faye took on the role without hesitation.  She loved Kenneth sacrificially and provided him with the medical care and attention that he needed.  Most important to Faye was her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  She loved Jesus and loved reading His Word. Faye's life was special in so many ways, to so many that loved her and she will be deeply missed.

A funeral service to reflect and pay tribute to her life will be held on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at 11:00 AM, at Free Union Free Will Baptist Church, 3454 Macedonia Road, Spring Hope, NC 27882 followed by a brief committal at the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 10:45 AM in the sanctuary.
