Fountain -

Doris Varnell Pittman, age 87, passed away on Thursday, July 14, 2022 at Vidant Edgecombe Hospital in Tarboro, NC. She was born in Greene County, NC on March 31, 1935 to Albert and Doretha Strickland Varnell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Pittman, Sr. and daughter, Debbie Pittman.

She is survived by her children, Paul Pittman, Jr (Patti) of Tarboro, Paulette Pittman (Ricky Hamill) of Fountain, Connie Gibson (Mike) of Littleton, Ann Ellis (Dwayne Ellis) of Lake Gaston, and Bobbie Jo Anderson of Fountain; two sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law; and special cousin, Angie. Doris was especially proud of and adored her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her three great-great grandchildren.

The family will host a memorial graveside service at 2:00PM, Saturday, July 16, 2022 at Autrey's Creek Primitive Baptist Church, 588 Otter Creek Church Road, Macclesfield, NC 27852. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
