Dorothy Callahan Fisher, 96, of Red Oak, North Carolina, passed away at her home on April 18, 2025. She was born on April 2, 1929, in Opie, VA, just outside of South Hill. She was selected for induction into Delta Kappa Gamma, a teacher's society to honor outstanding women educators.
Dorothy was a Charter Member of the Red Oak Area Historical Preservation Society. She served on the Nash County Farm Bureau Women's Committee where she organized buttermaking demonstrations and supplied agricultural books to schools. She also served on the Nash County Adult Care Home Community Advisory Committee.
Dorothy was devoted to her family and community and will be deeply missed. The family would like to thank Dorothy's church community; dedicated caregivers, Rose Coley, Becky Height, Althea Flowers, and Sue Shearin; and UNC Nash Hospice for being so supportive and caring.
