Dorothy Tripp Cummings

Dorothy Virginia Tripp Cummings, age 92, passed away Monday evening, September 28, 2026. She was born July 11, 1934 in Pitt County, NC to Charles Henry and Mittie Price Tripp. She was also preceded in death by her husband of fifty-five years, Staton Lawrence Cummings; son, Mike Cummings; and her nine siblings.

She was deeply loved by her family including her daughter, Ginger Pate and son-in-law, Tommy, of Winterville; and daughter-in-law, Vickie Webb Cummings; and was a beloved MeMa to grandchildren, Casey Pate of Winterville, George Pate (Mackenzie) of Winterville, Michael Cummings, Jr. of Tarboro, and Colby Cummings (Rhonda) of Swansboro; and great-granddaughter, Aubrey Ann Cummings, as well as her second great-granddaughter due in March, 2027. She will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, family friends and other extended relatives.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, October 1st, 2026 at Edgecombe Memorial Park. The family will greet friends immediately afterward.
