Edward Wayne Branch, age 80, passed away peacefully Monday morning, July 25, 2022, in his home. He was born on September 4, 1941, in Edgecombe County to Johnie and Lucille Newell Branch. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Anita Branch and brother, James Michael Branch.

He is survived by a loving family that includes his daughter, Debbie Branch Phillips and husband, Michael of Rocky Mount; brother, Reverend Johnny Hobbs Branch and wife, Susan of Greenville; grandchildren, Jamie Kennedy Gardner and husband, Scott and Thomas Michael Phillips, Jr. and fiancé, Alyssa Manning, all of Rocky Mount; great grandchildren, Ashlynn Grace Gardner and Wyatt Thomas Gardner; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A graveside memorial service will be held on Monday, August 1, 2022, at 3:00PM at Pineview Cemetery, Rocky Mount. The family will receive friends immediately following the service and other times at the home.
