IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Edward "Tiny"
Leamon Meyer
May 21, 1974 – November 6, 2025
Nashville -
Edward "Tiny" Leamon Meyer left us Thursday, November 6, 2025. We held onto him as long as we could, until Jesus took his hands from ours. We can only imagine the big kiss and "Hey Honey" from his wife Donna and a great big hug from his mama as they welcomed him Home.
Edward was born May 21st, 1974 to Charles and Janice Meyer. He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna Meyer, his mama, Janice Meyer and father-in-law Dolphus "Doc" Brantley Sr.
Edward was born to be mischievous. If he couldn't find mischief, he created it. He was the only boy in a family with three sisters and he loved to tease. He routinely coerced his sisters to do his chores so he could go fishing, an activity he enjoyed his entire life. All he needed was a rod, reel and a cup full of night crawlers and he was a happy guy.
He was fiercely protective and loyal to his family and friends. If you needed him, he always showed up no matter what. He carried that fierce protectiveness and loyalty into his adult life. When he met Donna, he knew she was the one. She was his best friend and the love of his life. Edward and Donna created a life together, started their own bail bonding business and had a family. He was her "Honey" and she was his "Boss Lady". Edward loved Donna with everything he had.
Edward and Donna's bail bond business allowed them to spend most of their time together. Together they had a significant impact on the community. Edward helped people in any way that he could. He had a way of connecting with and reaching people who were sometimes facing the worst experience of their lives. It never mattered when someone called to talk, he would always listen. He often donated items such as diapers and groceries to help others get through tough times and taught classes on legal issues for newly trained bond agents. He had a big heart and always encouraged others the best he could.
Edward had many roles and responsibilities in his field of work but he always said his favorite thing to be called, besides "Honey" by Donna, was "Dad" by his kids. His whole world changed the moment he became a dad. He often said it was his proudest achievement.
Edward loved to cook. He was adventurous in the kitchen, always willing to try new things his daughter made and often used the time spent cooking as bonding time with family. He liked to say that his skills on the grill were unmatched.
Edward loved his entire family. He cherished his growing up years with cousins that felt like siblings. The bonds he shared with his cousins were important and he held those relationships close to his heart his whole life. He shared crazy stories often about his memories with them.
Edward will be forever missed by his family – Bethany Meyer (Braxton), Kayla Meyer (BFF Caroline Modlin), Tristian Gilmore, Kristina Lucas (Jeremy), Kate, Cole and Chloe Lucas. Also left to cherish his memory are his dad, Charles "Peanut" Meyer; sisters, Kathryn Meyer (Danny Dillard), Kim Meyer, Pam Kaczmarek (Didier); niece, Kelsea Nicholson (Kelsey); nephew, Charles Kaczmarek (Camarie) and great-nieces and nephews, Quinn Nicholson, Leilani Gordon, Jacy Miller and Rowan Kaczmarek.
A memorial service will be held at 2:30pm on November 23rd, 2025 at Sunset Avenue Baptist Church, 3732 Sunset Ave, Rocky Mount, NC 27804. The family will receive visitors prior to the service from 1:00pm to 2:15pm and other times at the home.
In lieu of flowers, we ask for donations to be made in Edward's honor to the Baptist Men's Ramp Building Fund, c/o SABC, 3732 Sunset Avenue, Rocky Mount, NC 27804.
