Edward Earl Sherrod, age 75, passed away peacefully Wednesday morning, November 26, 2025. He was born in Nash County on February 15, 1950, the only son of Reginald and Goleta Earp Sherrod, both of whom preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife of fifty-seven years, Kathy Jones Sherrod; sisters, Jackie Sherrod Jones and husband, Dwight of Tarboro and Elaine Cobb and husband, Tim of Wilson; along with several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and other extended relatives.

A service will be held at 1:00pm on Monday, December 1, 2025 at Ridgecrest Worship Center, 1120 W Mount Drive, Rocky Mount, NC 27803. Interment will follow at Oakdale Cemetery, Spring Hope, NC. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 12:30.
