Ella Mae Lewis, age 78, passed away on Thursday, April 25, 2024. She was born on June 18, 1945 in Nash County. Our beloved mother went Home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Fondly known as "woman" she was a true joy to her family. She loved her family and her Lord very dearly.

She is survived by her children Vickie Carter (Blake) of Salem, George Lewis of Salem and Patsy Alligood (Doug) of Belhaven and special grandchildren Sarah Carter, Kristin Robinson, and Gina Robinson, and great grandchildren, Easton Sparrow and Jacob Sparrow; along with several nieces, nephews, and extended relatives.

Ella was a hardware and grocery store owner for many many years. She was a true Christian woman. She had a special sister that she loved, Bettie Baker Bell (James) of the Salem Community.

We would also love to give a big thanks to UNC caregivers to all! Thank you much.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, April 28, 2024 at 2:00pm at Salem Baptist Church, 4502 Swift Creek School Road, Whitakers, NC 27891. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
