Ellen Lynn Ratcliffe, age 65, passed away Thursday, April 4, 2024 at ECU Health Edgecombe Hospital in Tarboro, North Carolina. She was born on December 7, 1958 to Cleveland and Elma Showers Wines in Alexandria, Virginia. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her father and mother-in-law, Samuel and Romaine "Granny" Burnette; sister-in-law, Rachel Ratcliffe and brother-in-law, George Hinkle.

She is survived by a loving family that includes her husband of almost forty-eight years, Dennis P. Ratcliffe; children, Dennis "DJ" Ratcliffe, Jr. of Tarboro and Melonie Ratcliffe of Fredericksburg, Va; sister, Catherine Hinkle of Alexandria, Va; grandchildren, Tarrah and Troy Ours and Evelyn Webber; nieces, Chellye Peroman and Melissa Pikul; god children, Samantha Webb and Lauren Street as well as other extended relatives and her Hobgood Methodist Church family.

The family will host a Celebration of Life on Saturday, April 13, 2024 at 12:00pm at Hobgood Methodist Church, 208 W 5th Street, Hobgood, NC. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
