Ernest Wayne Cone, 75, passed away Saturday, July 31, 2021 at Kitty Askins Hospice in Goldsboro, NC.  Wayne was born on December 29, 1945, in Nash County to Vester and Zettie Whitley Cone.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Oliver, Ray, and Thomas Cone; sisters, Lucille Narron and Adjadine Christenbury; sisters-in-law,  Elizabeth Cone and Juanita "Teeny" Cone. Wayne is survived by a sister, Lyvonne Kirkman of Southport; sister-in-law, Pat Cone; along with many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended relatives.

Please join friends and family for a special Celebration of Life at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, August 7, 2021,  in the fellowship hall of Ridgecrest Worship Center, 1120 West Mount Dr., Rocky Mount. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society.
