Rocky Mount -

Evelyn Pauline Reed, age 87, passed away Sunday afternoon, November 12, 2023 at The Lodge Rehabilitation in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. Her journey began in Hillsboro, Kentucky on October 18, 1936, daughter of James and Eva Emily Royse. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, James E. Bolar and Jerry L. Reed; brothers, Claude Royse, Fred Royse, James Lewis "Junior" Royse and Clarence Royse and sisters, Thelma Brodt, Alma Lewis Wilson and Jeanette Howard.

She leaves behind a lifetime of memories for her children, Kay Bolar Vanlandingham (J) and Debbie Holcomb, all of Kentucky, Donna Gardner (Steve), Shirley Bolar and Jeremy Reed, all of Rocky Mount; siblings, Wayne Fannin (Charlotte), Emerson Fannin (Lola), all of Kentucky and Carol Gibb (Harry) of Virginia and special friends, Randy and Cathy Langston. Evelyn was especially proud of her grandchildren, Greg Forman (Cathy), Kerri Stanfield (Matt), Dennis Northcutt (Jill), Chris Northcutt (Crystal), Amber Botkin and Jason Browning (Amy) and great-grandchildren, Emily and Megan Huber, Whitney Botkin and Luke and Clara Forman.

The family will host a memorial service at Word of Life International Church, 3388 McNair Road, Tarboro, NC, on Wednesday, November 15, at 11AM.  The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
