Rocky Mount –

Faye Shearin Taylor, age 83, went Home to her Lord and Savior Tuesday morning, February 24, 2026. Her journey began in Edgecombe County, the third child born to Henry and Lannie Wilkins Shearin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elbert Eugene Taylor and son, Ronald "Ronnie" Taylor.

She is survived by a large and loving family that includes her siblings, Barbara Berry of Williamsburg, VA, Charlie Shearin and wife, Jan of Elm City, Margaret Shearin West of Nashville, Tony Shearin and wife, Shirley of Lake Gaston and David Shearin and wife, Vicki of Las Vegas, NV; special nephew, Roger Newsome; brother-in-law, Ray Taylor and wife, Jean of Rocky Mount; along with a host of nieces, nephews and other extended relatives.

A service to honor God and celebrate Faye's wonderful life will be held at 2:00pm on Sunday, March 1, 2026 at Oak View Baptist Church, 2412 Arlington Street, Rocky Mount, NC 27801. Interment will follow at Pineview Cemetery, Rocky Mount. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 1:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Oak View Baptist Church.
