Rocky Mount -

Floyd B. Braswell, age 88, passed away early Friday morning, November 3, 2023. He was born June 26, 1935 in Edgecombe County to Charlie and Mollie T. Braswell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-nine years, Rosie Vick Braswell; brothers, Newsome Earl Braswell, Charlie J. "CJ" Braswell, Jr., and Mark Braswell; and sister, Willie Mae Woodcock.

He is survived by his sons, Steven Braswell and wife, Windy and  David C. Braswell and wife, Donna; sister, Christine Moore and husband, Jerry; grandchildren, Brad Braswell, Brooks Braswell, Brent Braswell, and Brittany Braswell; great-grandchildren, Raiden  and Gwen Braswell; sisters-in-law, Shirley Vick Parker and Dale Sherrod; and brothers-in-law, Charles Vick and Donnie Vick and wife, Linda.

Mr. Braswell enjoyed a successful career as a realtor and building contractor in the Rocky Mount area for more than fifty years. He was also a proud veteran, having served in the United States Army Reserves.

A service of Celebration and Remembrance will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, November 7, 2023 at Morton Presbyterian Church, 6605 West Mount, Dr., Rocky Mount. The family will receive friends prior to the service, beginning at 1:00 pm.
