Hazel Coggins Perkins, age 83, passed away at Autumn Care of Nash on June 29, 2021. She was born in Edgecombe County to Robert and Betty Mae Coggins. She graduated from South Edgecombe High and was a long-time resident of Rocky Mount.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Robert (Bob), Leonard and William Edward (Hoot) Coggins.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Sherwood Gene Perkins and several nephews and nieces. Hazel was special to all who knew her, and she loved sharing her homemade goodies and crafts. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, July 7 at 11am at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
