Buddy's passing was both sudden and devastating to those who knew and loved him. He leaves behind the person he treasured the most, his daughter, Jayme Whitfield. He will be missed greatly by his fiancée, Christy Leggett; his mother, Angela Griffin; his father, Howard Whitfield Jr & step-mother, Crystal Whitfield; grandmothers, Helen Hamill & Grace Bland, whose lives will never be the same. He also left behind his four sisters, Summer Pitt, Brandy Boyette, Shannon Whitfield, and Miracle Whitfield, as well as his baby brother, Zachary Whitfield. He had lots of beloved nieces and nephews, Harmoney, Cashez and London Pitt, Liam, Justin, and Braxton Boyette, Emyah & Elyjah Pollard and Braylah Mabry, Makenna and Noah Whitfield.

To know Buddy was to love him. He had truly grown into a great man of God whose main goal in life was to provide a loving home and support to his daughter and fiancée. He was the type of son any parent would hope for and the kind of brother you would be lucky to have. His days were filled with playing hide and seek with his daughter, watching sports (he was a big REDSKIN fan), and fishing.

We will forever miss him saying I love you, which he did after every visit, phone call, and text. We will be lost without his daily smiles and positive outlook on life.

We are only comforted in the fact that he was a man of God and while we wanted healing on this side of the earth God wanted him there.

We know he was welcomed into Heaven's streets of gold with open arms and our hearts will be forever missing a piece until we meet again

A Graveside service will take place at 3:00 pm, Thursday, August 6, 2020 at Macclesfield Cemetery. The family will greet friends immediately following the service..
