Hubert H. Hyde, age 95, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, May 17, 2020, in the comfort of his home following an extended illness.

Hubert was born in Tifton, Ga. on January 13, 1925 to the late Charlie R. and Maggie Thomas Hyde.  He was also preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Lucille Rooks Hyde; son, Hubert H. Hyde, Jr.; brothers, Charlie Jr., James and Wilbur Hyde; sisters, Leola Joyner and Dorothene Rackley.

Hubert leaves behind to cherish his memory a son, Charlie R. Hyde and wife Martha F. Hyde of Red Oak; daughter-in-law, Sybil Hyde of Waycross, Ga.; grandchildren, Melissa Batten of Waycross, Ga., Chris Hyde (Brandy) of Florence, S.C., Tracy Futrell (William) of Rocky Mount; sisters, Helen Davis, Weedie Hayes, and Faye Farmer and husband, Pete.  He also leaves eight great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A private service will be held at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
