Inez Davis Sykes, age 81, passed away Wednesday morning, July 15th, 2020 at Transitions LifeCare in Raleigh, NC.

Inez was preceded in death by her parents, Troy Beatrice Davis and Mary Christine Barnes, sons Michael Lee Sykes and Robert Lee Sykes, brother, Troy Beatrice Davis Jr. and sister Judy Davis Shearin.

She leaves a lifetime of cherished memories for her daughter, Christina Sykes Barfield and son-in-law Jerry Wayne Barfield Jr.; grandson, Jarrett Barfield; granddaughter, Kristy Sykes Rodman;  great-grandson, Mason Rodman; sister,  Jo Anne Linton Barber; brother-in-law, Stoney Barber; and lots of loving nieces, nephews and wonderful friends.

Inez was uniquely independent and a strong woman who accepted the challenges of life without fear. She enjoyed working in the yard, planting flowers, reading books, and cooking for her family.

She truly never knew a stranger and everywhere she went they always remembered her visit.

The family will have a private graveside service at the Pineview Cemetery.
