James Allen "Jim" Hart, age 76, passed away peacefully in his sleep Friday, February 10, 2023. He was born in Kingston, New York on September 28, 1946 to Robert Percival and Helen Sivills Hart. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Gray Hart and brother, Robert Hart.

Jim was a proud veteran who served honorably in the United States Air Force in Vietnam. He later served as a State Trooper with the North Carolina Highway Patrol. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and community.

He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Gargan and husband, Patrick of Alabama; grandchildren, Kieran, Vivian and Audrey Gargan; along with nieces, nephews, friends, and other extended relatives.

A service will be held Thursday, February 16, 2023 at 11:00AM at First Baptist Church, 200 South Church Street, Rocky Mount, NC 27804. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 10:00AM.
