James Aaron Daughtridge, 81, passed away Monday, January 30, 2023. He was born March 16, 1941, in Edgecombe County to John Gilbert and Ruby Hull Daughtridge. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Ray Daughtridge and Gene Daughtridge and his beloved miniature dachshund, Penny.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of sixty years, Alice Mosley Daughtridge; son, Phillip Scott Daughtridge; two grandchildren, Matthew Daughtridge and wife, Morgan and Morgan Hardison and husband, Jeremy, all of Rocky Mount; brother, John W. Daughtridge (Janet); three sisters, Helen Manning (Henry), Sylvia Smith and Diane Rackley; three great-grandchildren, Burgess and Bennett Daughtridge and Logan Hardison; along with several nieces, nephews, and other extended relatives.

Aaron retired from the United States Postal Service after many loyal years. During his retirement, he enjoyed working in his garden, cooking, and spending time with family. He was a hard-working, devoted family man who appreciated the simple things in life. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

A memorial service will be Friday, February 3, 2023, at 2:00PM at NorthSide Church, 1660 Beaver Pond Dr., Rocky Mount, NC with Rev. Joe Price officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
