With his loving family by his side, James S. "Jimmy" Davis passed away at his home during the early morning hours of Wednesday, January 29, 2020.

Jimmy was born March 10, 1951 in Nash County to Sherman and Doris Radford Davis. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Rodney Davis; sister, Brenda Davis Riley; brother-in-law, John Riley; and special daughter-in-law, Kristie Davis.

He is survived by his devoted wife of fifty-one years, Deborah "Debbie" Davis, sons, Michael Davis of Williamsburg, Va. and Travis Davis of Tarboro; sister, Linda Davis Booth (Tommy) of Rocky Mount; brother, Doug Davis (Sandra) of Rocky Mount; grandchildren, Kaitlyn Tidwell (fiancee, Anna Beth Binder), Haley Tidwell, Elizabeth Davis, and Halie Trent; special sister-in-law, Pam Sarver; special caregiver, nurse, and niece, Ashley Harper; and his beloved Shih Tzu, Dillon. He will also be missed by his close friends, Willie and Ann Keel and Tim Ellis, along with his nieces, nephews, family friends, and other extended relatives.

A service to pay tribute to Jimmy's life with be held Thursday, February 6, 2020, 6:00 PM at Northside Community Church, Rocky Mount.  The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
