Boydton, Virginia -

Friday 30 June 2023 Retired Command Sergeant Major James Donald Rogers, whom his friends knew as "Jimmy", completed his earthly mission and has reunited with his parents, James M. and Katherine; sisters, Carolyn (Earl), and Alice; grandson, Tate.

He leaves behind his wife of fifty years, Helen Bridges Rogers; children, Patty, Michael (Kelley), and Scott (Heather); grandchildren, Eric, Timmy, Lindsay, Jessica, Madisyn, and Landry; numerous great-grandchildren; sisters, Janice, Deborah (Curtis), and Tracey (Mark); brother-in-law, Charles; along with many nieces and nephews.

Jimmy served his country as a ranger in Vietnam and Afghanistan and retired as Chief of Enlisted Staff for Joint Forces Command following forty-four years of military service.

A service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday 5 July 2023 at Fields United Methodist Church, 2800 Sullivan Road, Boydton, Va. Burial with full military honors immediately following. The family will receive friends prior to the service , beginning at 10:00 a.m.
