Janice Cockrell Capps, age 65, passed away Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at ECU Health Hospital in Tarboro, North Carolina. She was born in Nash County on July 17, 1957 to Jack and Mildred Patterson Cockrell, both of whom preceded her in death.

She is survived by her husband of twenty-three years, Douglas "Greg" Capps; sons, Christopher Cockrell of Raleigh, Derek Capps and Dustin Capps; brother, Raymond Cockrell (Donna) of Nashville; grandson, Devon Capps; along with other extended relatives and friends.

Janice was a loving wife, mother and friend. She was creative and enjoyed working with her hands in capacities such as sewing, making jewelry and arranging flowers into beautiful bouquets. She had a heart of gold and will be deeply missed.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
