Javan Wright Woodcock, age 32, passed away on July 17, 2021. He was born on July 13, 1989 in Rocky Mount, NC. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Elbert Donald Woodcock and Willie Mae Woodcock and his maternal grandparents, William Charles Kirkland and Latrell Frances Kirkland.

He is survived by a loving family that includes his parents, Elbert Donald Woodcock, Jr. and Linda Elaine Woodcock; sister, April Michelle Parks; brother-in-law, Nicholas Dane Parks and nieces, Reece Alaina and Alexa Grace Parks. He will also be dearly missed by numerous special cousins, aunts, uncles, and family friends.

Javan was a skilled carpenter, roofer, and builder. He was known for making people laugh and smile and had many friends and family who loved him and loved to be around him. He was heavily connected with LIFE Ministry at Oakdale Baptist Church where he met several amazing mentors including Michelle and Scott House. Javan was baptized at Bethel Colony of Mercy in February of 2021.

A graveside service to commemorate Javan will be held on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at 11:00AM at Pineview Cemetery, 761 E Raleigh Blvd, Rocky Mount, NC 27801 with Pastor Dion Loving officiating. A time of remembering Javan with friends, family, and some of his favorite foods and snacks will take place immediately following the service at Oakdale Baptist Church, 13037 US Highway 64 Alt W, Rocky Mount, NC 27801. The family requests that visitors wear white or other bright colors in celebration of Javan to the graveside service as well as the celebration of life.
